POP-I: MULAT PINOY VIDEO CONTEST

Mulat Pinoy invites YOU to join the POP-i Video contest! Anyone residing in the Philippines can submit an entry. All you have to do is make a 30 to 90-second video that answers one of the questions below. There are two rounds of the contest, with one question per round. You can use your mobile phone, digital camera, laptop cam, or even a webcam to make your video. Here’s your chance to win a Flip video camera!
The contest period is from April 23 to June 4, 2010 (first round) and May 7 to June 4, 2010 (second round). Finalists will be announced a week after the deadline and winners will be awarded at a ceremony on June 19, 2010. Join now! Details below:
CONTEST RULES AND GUIDELINES:
- The contest will be open to residents of the Philippines. Employees/active team members of PMFI and/or Mulat Pinoy are not eligible to apply. There is no limit to the number of videos an individual (or group of individuals, if submitting as a group) may submit. Contestants may submit videos for both rounds of the contest.
- The video should be a minimum of 30 seconds and a maximum of 90 seconds long.
- The video should answer the question:
For Round ONE - Masusunog ka ba sa impiyerno kung gagamit ka ng condom?
(Will you burn in hell if you use contraceptives?)
For Round TWO - Sa sobrang dami ng tao sa Pinas, paano ka makakahanap ng trabaho?
(With so many people in the Philippines, how can you get a job?)
- Videos need not be professionally edited or have advanced special effects. A submission is acceptable as long as it is clear, intelligible and not offensive to common lawful decency.
- Entries may be in Tagalog, English or both.
- Entries should be received within the dates specified:

- The videos must be uploaded to the participant’s own Youtube account, to facilitate view tracking. Uploads to any other site will not be eligible for the contest. The participant should provide the following information:

- Ten (10) finalists will be announced a week after the contest round deadline.
Round 1: June 11, 2010
Round 2: June 11, 2010
- Six (6) winners per round will be announced at the awarding ceremony on June 19. Venue will be in Metro Manila.
Each set of winners will get: 1 grand prize winner (a Flip video camera) and 5 winners of consolation prizes (Php500 gift certificates from SM). Group submissions will only get one prize.
- The criteria for judging will be as follows:
- Popdev relevance (45%): Does it answer the question? Is there a clear link between the video content and population/development issues? Does it provide insights into the nature of population and development, and perhaps offer solutions? Is it thought-provoking?
- Message clarity (35%): Is the video’s message presented in an understandable and accessible manner? Does it make sense, not just to population and development advocates, but to the general public as well?
- Production quality (15%): Is the video presented in a visually appealing or provocative fashion?
- Audience impact (5%): Contest entries will be screened at the awarding ceremony and final judging will be done.
