The International Labour Organization (ILO) estimates 800,000 workers from eight regions in the country have been affected by Typhoon Hagupit, locally known as Ruby, with their source of livelihood damaged or disrupted overnight. About 370,000 of these workers were in vulnerable employment, living in poverty and accepting whatever work is available to them.
