We’re inviting young Filipinas and Filipinos to sign up for the first-ever Mulat Pinoy-Kabataan News Network Science Communication Workshop!
MP-KNN SciComm is a 5-week workshop wherein you will learn how to create science communication stories, from conceptualization to post-production. In this workshop, you will focus on a field of science that you are most interested in, whether it be life sciences, physical sciences, social sciences, or technology and innovation. You will also choose the kind of content that you enjoy making. You can create videos, podcasts, online articles, photo essays, and many more.
Learning sessions will be conducted every Saturday afternoon of July 2020 starting July 4 and will end with a virtual community exhibition on August 1. Successful applicants will learn from seasoned science communicators, producers and journalists, who will be there as your mentors and teachers. The workshop is free of charge. The deadline for applicants is on June 12, 2020 at 11:59 PST.
This is not your ordinary webinar or online learning program. In this workshop, you will learn to collaborate with other learners, make mistakes, and drive your own learning experience. We are looking for eager learners who are motivated to put time and effort into creating quality media content. This is also your chance to publish your work on the MP-KNN website with the help of some of the best science communicators in the country.Â
