Four (4) scholars of the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration from the Mindanao region passed the 2011 government board examinations for Nursing Licensure held last July and Certified Public Accountancy last October. The scholars who obtained their baccalaureate degrees last March were Ma. Kristine Rothessa Manuel Reyes, Jennifer Beltran Covarrubias, Erwin James Go De Jesus and Abdulrauf Halil Sala.

Reyes, Covarrubias and Sala were among the 37,513 examinees who successfully hurdled the nursing licensure exams. De Jesus, on the other hand, was one of the 4,066 examinees out of 8,525 who passed the board exams for Accountancy.

Reyes and De Jesus graduated Magna Cum Laude and Cum Laude, respectively, from Ateneo De Zamboanga.

All 4 scholars were recipients of the Education for Development Scholarship Program (EDSP) of the OWWA. The EDSP is a competitive scholarship program for qualified dependents of OFWs with active OWWA membership. — END —
