Philippines must curb its runaway population growth. True.
However, it is very timely that there is now an ongoing senate investigation on graft. We should not let this opportunity pass us by. We should garner a critical mass of concerned citizens to pressure government to stop graft now. The culture of corruption has kept the Philippines backward for too long. Because of this many Asian countries have passed us by. China, India, Taiwan, Thailand. Yen used to be at par with a Centavo. 1956 – check it out.
Mulat-Pinoy should take leadership in gathering electronic signatures through the internet, for a petition to our senators to stop graft and corruption now, once and for all. People are fed up. Sawa’ na. Tama na. After 100,000 eSignatures the petition should be sent to the Senate, copy furnished Pres Noynoy. After the number has reached 1,000,000 it should again be sent to the Senate and the President.
Witnesses should be protected, provided:
1. They tell everything no matter how high an official is hurt;
2. They return at least half of the corruption money they have received; and
3. They promise never to receive graft money again.
They must be made immune from prosecution unless they returned less than half, and their lives must be protected from powerful people who would want to retaliate against them and their families.
The Philippines is not hopeless. With President ‘Noy’s backing, unrepentant government officials, generals, presidents, etc. must be exposed, and put to prison if they do not give back all their corruption money and bear witness to those who received lagay’, graft, and corruption.
